Edmonton Police Service (EPS) are looking for the public’s help in locating a missing 40-year-old man.
David Whitford was last seen on August 25 in the area of Victoria Trail and 135 Avenue. His disappearance is considered out of character, which has his family concerned for his well-being.
Whitford is known to spend time near the Fraser Off-leash area in northeast Edmonton, and police determined that his phone was in that area the day he went missing.
On Thursday (Sep. 7), EPS Missing Persons Unit, City of Edmonton Park Rangers, the Canadian Search Dog Association, the Search and Rescue Dog Association of Alberta, Edmonton Regional Search and Rescue, Parkland Search and Rescue, and the EPS Marine Unit have done an extensive search of the Fraser Off-leash area but were not able to locate him.
Whitford is described as:
- 5 foot 9 inches
- 190 pounds
- short black hair
- wearing a black zip-up hoodie
- wearing cream coloured dress shorts
Police are asking anyone that lives near the area to contact police if they saw anyone matching his description on August 25 or 26.
