Strathcona County arrest man for trying to buy SUV with fake documents

Police in Strathcona County have arrested a man for trying to buy a vehicle with forged documents.

Officers received reports on September 8 of a man trying to fraudulently purchase a 2022 BMW X6M, valued at $130,000, from a local dealership.

According to police, the man was found with these forged documents, where he provided police with a false name. An investigation led to the man being arrested.

Jaskirat Singh, a resident of Etobicoke, Ontario, has been charged with:

  • Use of a forged document
  • Obstruction of a police officer

Singh has been released from custody and will be appearing in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on October 11.
