The Fort Falcons Football Club raised a ton of money and food for the Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank with their Tackle Hunger fundraiser.
The event took place on Friday (Sep. 15) and Saturday, featuring several teams from around the area playing games which were free to attend with a food bank donation.
“We had a great turnout on our Friday Night Lights game, as we always do. The truck was overflowing,” said Chris Malo, head coach with the Falcons.
In total, they raised over $500 for the food bank, and almost 1,000 pounds of food.
Malo added that on top of the charity events, the season has been going great for the Falcons.
“Our peewees are undefeated, and our bantams played a really close game on Friday night,” stated Malo. “We’re looking at having a great season and competing in the highest level we’ve competed at.”
The Tackle Hunger fundraiser was sponsored by Heartland Ford, Taurus Projects Group, and Southfort Chevrolet.
