Edmonton police looking for witnesses of shooting

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) are looking for witnesses in a shooting that happened earlier this month.

The shooting happened in the area of 118 Avenue and 94 Street on September 8. When police arrived on the scene, they found several bullet casings on the ground.

A short while later, police were told that there was a 21-year-old man in hospital with gunshot wounds.

“This shooting occurred in a well populated area during the supper hour and had the potential to injure other bystanders, which is extremely concerning,” says Detective Nigel Phillips with the EPS Investigative Response Team.

Police believe that CCTV or dashcam footage of the area during the time of the shooting may help with their investigation.

Officers are asking everyone in the area on that day to review footage between 6:15 and 6:35 p.m.

Anyone with information should contact EPS at 780-423-4567.
