Edmonton opens new river valley park

Edmonton’s new river valley park had its grand opening on Sunday.

The new park is located in the area of 149 Avenue and 17 Street. The park is 190 acres, making it not just the biggest river valley park, but the largest park in Edmonton’s history.

This park connects several trails in the river valley with a playground, public washrooms, and an ornamental lake for boating.

The park was created as part of the Ribbon of Green plan, which aims to connect the river valley so that it meets the needs of Edmonton residents and the environment as a whole.

The park had an opening date set for August but was postponed due to migratory birds that were still leaving the region.

The park has not been named yet, but the city is expecting to get the official naming process started at some point in the fall.
