Man dead after hitting concrete beam in West Edmonton Mall

An 18-year-old man is dead after an incident at West Edmonton Mall.

According to the Edmonton Police Service (EPS), they received a report at 1:45 p.m. of a man standing in the sunroof of a Toyota Camry driving through the north parkade.

Police say the man struck a concrete beam as the car was passing under a ramp.

Paramedics took the man to hospital where he died from his injuries. The other people in the car, a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, were not injured.

Police are trying to find witnesses to the accident and are asking anyone with dash-cam footage of the crash to contact EPS at 780-423-4567.
