Petition started to remove Lamont County Reeve

A petition has been started to recall Lamont County Reeve David Diduck.

The petition was submitted by resident Theo Wallace. The petition has 60 days to get enough signatures to cover 40 per cent of the population of Ward 3, which is about 684 people.

If the petition gains the 274 signatures by December 4, Diduck may lose his position.

Once the petition is submitted, the Chief Administrative Officer of Lamont County has 45 days to rule on the validity of the petition.

Why Wallace started the petition is unknown.

Diduck was elected to County Council back in 2017 before being voted in as Reeve in 2018. Diduck also serves as chair of Alberta’s Industrial Heartland Association and as a board member of the Lamont Health Care Centre. He also serves as president of the Andrew Lions Club.
