Alberta RCMP warning public about stolen Ford Raptors

The Alberta RCMP Auto Theft Unit is warning the public about a series of stolen Ford Raptors.

According to police there have been three separate cases where Ford Raptors were stolen, given a new Vehicle Identification Number, and sold to unsuspecting victims.

Police believe that the value of each of these vehicles is around $80,000, with all sales being in the areas of Calgary and Edmonton.

As the RCMP investigates into the stolen trucks, officers are asking that individuals looking to privately purchase a car take the following precautions:

  • Ask for identification from the seller
  • Buy used cars from reputable dealers
  • If the price of the vehicle seems to good to be true it probably is
  • If anything feels off about the seller including cash only deals, wanting to meet at odd locations or times, be prepared to walk away

Anyone with information of the stolen trucks is asked to contact their local police detachment.
