Three in hospital after Edmonton crash

Three people are in hospital after a crash on 118 Avenue in Edmonton on Tuesday morning.

At around 4 a.m. a Dodge Ram truck was heading eastbound when it sped through a red light at the intersection of Wayne Gretzky Drive.

At the same time a Toyota Tacoma was heading southbound on Wayne Gretzky Drive when it went through the 118 Avenue intersection and collided with the Dodge Ram.

The crash closed off 118 Avenue for several hours as officers worked to clear the scene and investigate into the cause of the crash.

Three people – two from the Dodge Ram and one from the Toyota Tacoma – were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

Just before 11 a.m. Wayne Gretzy Drive southbound had reopened, with 118 Avenue remaining closed as a light is repaired.

Police expect the road closure to end on Tuesday night.
