One in custody, two at large in 2022 Edmonton homicide

Edmonton Police Service have arrested one person in connection to the death of 36-year-old Ahmed Mohamed.

On December 18, 2022, police responded to a weapons complaint near 103 Street and 106 Avenue. When they arrived, they found 23-year-old suffering serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The 23-year-old was taken to hospital as officers were led to a second scene at a convenience store near 104 Street and 107 Avenue.

Officers arrived to discover Mohamed in the parking lot with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He died from his injuries on scene.

Almost a year after his death, EPS have arrested and charged 30-year-old Hamdi Abdi-Ahmed with second-degree murder.

Investigators have also issued arrest warrants for Abdullahi Are and Ahmed Osman in connection to the murder. Osman is also wanted on warrants for aggravated assault and possessing a weapon with a defaced serial number.

Police have released photos of the two suspects, which you can see below.
