Alberta RCMP issue Halloween traffic safety tips

RCMP want Halloween revelers and drivers alike to have a happy, and safe, Halloween.

The Mounties say drivers should ensure they’re giving their full attention to the the road.

“Make sure you’re following the law in regards to the speed limit and even going slower, especially in the residential neighborhoods where the little ones will be out. make sure you’re being extra vigilant.” Sergeant Darrin Turnbull said.

“Mind your speed. Make sure that you’re not driving distracted. Make sure that you’re a sober driver so that we’re not risking being involved in collisions with these little ones.”

Parents can also do their part, Turnbull said, including reminding children to be careful near roadways, and wearing highly visable costumes including those that have white fabrics, reflective tape, and lights.
