Lamont student awarded county scholarship

Since 2005 Lamont County has rewarded up to two students with $1,000 scholarships every year.

In late October, the county announced that this years recipient was Lamont High School graduate Mikayla O’Brien.

O’Brien was presented the scholarship by County Reeve David Diduck at Elk Island School Division’s Lamont High School Annual Awards on October 28.

The county’s council said that they thrive in supporting the education of rural students.

“Seeing residents succeed in their academic future, highlights some of the many achievements and opportunities in Lamont County,” said Diduck.

Submissions for the scholarship are accepted year-round. Those interested in applying for next year’s scholarship can do so on the Lamont County website.
