One arrested after heavy police presence in Edmonton neighbourhood

A man has been arrested after heavy police presence was spotted in a west Edmonton neighbourhood on Sunday afternoon.

Several members of the Edmonton police tactical team were spotted in Glastonbury as neighbours were told to shelter in place. One resident claimed that police told them it was an active shooter.

The order to shelter in place was lifted later in the day as police were spotted taking away two people in handcuffs.

According to police, one of those two people were arrested without incident, and charges are pending against them.
