Edmonton police looking for information in 2022 shooting death

Edmonton police have released more details on the 2022 death of Kelsey Ouellette.

On November 5, 2022, at around 7:30 p.m., police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Jasper Avenue and 116 Street.

When officers arrived, they found 31-year-old Kelsey Ouellette, who had been shot. Officers tried emergency first-aid as paramedics arrived, but Ouellette was declared dead on the scene.

An autopsy done a few days later found that she had died from multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was homicide.

Police released a video and image of the SUV believed to be involved in her death in the hopes that someone could identify it.

However, police found the vehicle burning in the area of 259 Avenue and 18 Street the same evening that the video and image of the SUV was released.

Police discovered through investigation that Kelsey’s boyfriend, Nicolas Chamberland, had died suddenly months before.

While Nicolas’ death is not deemed criminal, investigators believe the circumstances of his and Kelsey’s life in the months leading up to their deaths.

Anyone with information on their deaths are asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567.
