St. Albert RCMP probe armed robbery of Century Casino

The Mounties are investigating the armed robbery of Century Casino on 24 Boudreau Road in St. Albert.

“At around 3:48 p.m. on [Sunday] November 12, a lone male came into the casino with what appeared to be a handgun, and he presented it to one of the workers there and demanded money,” Corporal Troy Savinkoff said.

“Ultimately, fortunately, upon receiving some money, he left, and no one was hurt. He was then observed getting into a Jeep Cheroke and driving away past the Alberta, Gaming, Liquor [& Cannabis] Centre,” Cpl. Savinkoff said, which is one block to the Northeast of the casino.

“St. Albert’s a fairly quiet larger city. These sort of real brazen robberies we don’t see very often, so this one’s fairly notable and we’ll ensure we have all the resources in place to investigate it diligently,” Cpl. Savinkoff offered.

In a media release, police issued the following description:

  • Light complexion
  • In his 40’s
  • Approx. 5 foot 5 inches tall
  • Wearing a black mask, black ball cap, black gloves, dark jacket, black hoodie, blue jeans.

The RCMP is looking for additional information and ask that you contact the St Albert RCMP detachment at 780-458-7700. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers.
