Health Canada Issues Recall for Sliced Fruit; May be Contaminated

Health Canada has issued a recall notice for several brands and packaging variations of fresh sliced fruit sold in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and possibly other provinces and territories, because of potential salmonella contamination.

The health regulator says, “do not consume, use, sell, serve or distribute [the] recalled products,” and lists the following brands in the recall:

  • Central Foods Co.
  • Fresh Start Foods
  • GFS
  • Kitchen Essentials
  • Ready-Set-Serve by Markon

The recall also lists unbranded packaging manufactured by Fresh Start Foods of Richmond B.C.

Please check the recall notice for which specific UPC codes and best-before dates are listed.
