Several killed in explosion at US-CAN border

Several people have been killed in a vehicle explosion at Rainbow Bridge, with government officials treating the incident as terror related.

Several U.S border crossings in Niagara Falls are closed after the explosion, with the FBI even joining in on the investigation.

Fatalities have been reported, although the number remains unclear. According to an official at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in New York, one patient is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials in Ontario have closed off the Peace Bridge, the Whirlpool Bridge, and the Queenstown-Lewiston Bridge as authorities investigate.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, and New York Governor Kathy Hochul have been briefed on the situation, with Hochul ordering the New York state police and the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force to monitor all entry points into the state.

Updates are expected as more information becomes available.
