Leduc RCMP investigate theft of memorial plaques

Leduc RCMP are investigating the theft of seven bronze plaques that were stolen from memorial benches.

The thefts happened around Telford Lake, with the most recent theft between November 10 and November 14.

The plaques were a part of a commemorative bench program offered by the City of Leduc for residents who want to pay tribute to loved ones.

“The theft of these memorial plaques is disheartening and undoubtedly upsetting to community members”, says Constable Cheri-Lee Smith with Leduc RCMP.

All of the families impacted by the thefts have been contacted by the City, and new plaques have been ordered.

Anyone with information on the thefts are asked to contact Leduc RCMP at 780-980-7267.

RCMP Officer.
