Leduc RCMP asking community to give them ‘the bird’

Leduc RCMP are asking people to give them the bird for a good cause this holiday season.

However, they’re not talking about the one finger salute, they’re talking about turkeys.

“The one finger wave will get you a ticket for Stunting worth $567 and a court date”, says Constable Cheri-Lee Smith with Leduc RCMP. “The latter will warm your heart and help those in our community who are in need. This is a fantastic tongue-in-cheek initiative that brings a bit of humour to a great cause.”

The Leduc RCMP are looking to gather frozen turkeys to support the Leduc & District Food Bank’s Christmas baskets for families in need.

On December 4 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., they’ll be taking in frozen turkeys at the Chamber parking lot, located at 6420 50 Street in Leduc.

For those unable to drop them off on December 4, they can also be dropped off at the Stuff A Cruiser event on December 2.

This comes as demand for local food banks had been on the rise.
