Dow’s annual grants support local groups

Several community groups are getting a helping hand from Dow Canada this year.

Dow Canada has announced that they’ll be supplying $294,235 in grants to local community groups as part of their annual program that prioritizes food security and access to education.

United Way will be getting the bulk of the grant money, with $169,347 going towards Alberta’s Capital Region, and another $23,138 going towards Central Alberta.

Other grants include $25,875 going to both Families First Society and the Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank. $10,000 will also be going towards the Blackfalds food bank.

There are plenty of other local groups that will be receiving a grant of $4,000. These groups include:

  • Fort Heritage Precinct
  • Fort Saskatchewan Trail Alliance
  • Fort Saskatchewan High School
  • Fort Saskatchewan Public Library
  • Next Steps Fort Saskatchewan
  • St. Andre Bessette Catholic School
  • St. John Paul II Catholic High School
