Edmonton Kingsway Mall Shooting; Carjacking Results in Injury and Crashed Vehicle

Edmonton Police say they have a man in custody after an apparent shooting and carjacking in a parking lot outside of the Kingsway Mall on Tuesday. Police say they received a weapons complaint at 7:16 p.m.

Police say the suspect fled in that stolen automobile before crashing into a building at 101 Street and 118 Avenue after trying to drive through a traffic circle, “at high speed.”

Police say they found a gun inside of the stolen vehicle.

The mall was placed in a lockdown following the shooting, reports say.

Police say the victim of the shooting was transported to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
