Fort Sask family raising money this weekend through hot chocolate stand

A Fort Saskatchewan family is running a hot chocolate stand this weekend to raise money for families in need.

Shannon DeLine and her children, 10-year-old Austin and 8-year-old Zoe will be running the stand on Sunday, December 10, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on 10024 97 Avenue.

“The kids wanted to give back this year,” said Shannon. “They said they don’t need much under the tree this year, and asked if they could give to other kids.”

There will also be holiday backdrops set up for people to take free photos, and crafts made by the kids.

“Austin is trying hard to make crafts and he wants to show off his woodworking skills. It’s pretty cute, and my daughter is doing beaded Christmas trees, wooden snowmen, and wooden bears.”

This is their first year raising money through a hot chocolate stand, with all the money going towards buying holiday gifts for local families.
