Naming contest for Morinville snowplows

The Town of Morinville is looking to give their two snowplows some personality.

The “Name our Morinville Snowplows” contest is live, which gives member of the community the chance to showcase their creativity and winter spirit.

Submissions are accepted until December 17. After that, a short list with the top 20 names will go live from December 21 to January 9.

Finally, on January 11, the two names with the most votes will be announced as the winners.

Felicity Gingras with the town of Morinville said that you can enter as many names as you like.

“We’re open to as many names as people have the creativity for, and we’ll just being drawing from those entries,” said Gingras. “Depending how things go, we may think about naming some of our other fleet.”

Those that enter will also be eligible for a “Morinville Prize Pack”, although what that will contain is a surprise.

“It’s a fun initiative to get people excited, and we’re trying to get people interested in thinking about snow as we move into the real winter months here.”

You can enter your names for the snowplows on the Town of Morinville website.
