Edmonton police investigate sexual assault in Mill Creek Ravine

Edmonton police are asking the public for any video footage taken in the area of a sexual assault in the North Mill Creek Ravine on December 10.

At around 3 p.m., a 33-year-old woman was out for a walk in the ravine east of the area near 95 Street and 86 Avenue.

The woman claims a man who was standing off the path approached her, grabbed her, and pinned her to a nearby tree, where he sexually assaulted her.

The woman was able to escape to the “Peace Mile” parking lot north of 82 Avenue and 95A Street and reported that the assault happened one kilometre north of the parking lot.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • About 50 years old
  • Around 5 foot 10 inches tall
  • Medium Build
  • White hair with dark streaks on the side

The man was reported to be wearing a black zip-up puffer jacket, light blue jeans, and running shoes that were black and white in colour.

Police are asking any residents of the area with external video cameras, or visitors with cell phone footage taken close to the time of the assault, to get in touch with investigators through 780-423-4567.
