Edmonton Police Lay Second Degree Murder Charge in Downtown Stabbing

Edmonton police have charged a 23-year-old man in relation to the stabbing death of a man last week.

Just after 2 a.m. on Friday, December 22, police responded to a weapons complaint in the area of 107 Avenue and 104 Street. When officers arrived, they found 34-year-old Harley Herman in medical distress.

Officers began providing first aid, but by the time EMS arrived, Herman was declared deceased.

On Wednesday, December 27, an autopsy concluded that Herman died from a stab wound, and the manner of death was homicide.

EPS have arrested and charged 23-year-old Tyler Gray with second degree murder in relation to Herman’s death.
