New Years events in the area

There are a bunch of New Years related events going on in the area.

In Sherwood Park, there are New Years Eve celebrations going on at Broadmoor Lake Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be s’mores, ice sculptures, shinny hockey, and other winter activities. The event will end with a spectacular firework show that can be best seen at the plaza.

In Fort Saskatchewan, there won’t be any official city events, but there is a New Year’s Eve party being held at The Canadian Brewhouse, and a live show featuring The Derina Harvey Band at The Bear’s Den.

In smaller communities in the area, there will be a New Year’s Eve party in Redwater at the Kicks Saloon, while in Morinville there’s a music performance at the Royal Canadian Legion.

While in Edmonton, there are several events going on, from the annual downtown festival and fireworks at Sir Winston Churchill Square, to several parties held at venues all across the city.

As far as the weather is concerned, New Years Eve is predicting sunny skies and a high of 6 C before dipping down to -6 C overnight and warming up to -1 C on New Years Day.
