Woman Riding Edmonton Transit Bus Dies After Falling Through Rear Door onto Street

A 63-year-old woman who fell out of a moving Edmonton Transit Service bus on Friday afternoon succumbed to her injuries in hospital, Edmonton Police Service said.

In a news release, police say the woman stood up from her seat and was beginning to make her way toward the rear door when she lost her balance while the bus turning eastbound onto 95 Avenue from the southbound lanes of 174 Street. That’s when she fell backward, through the rear door of the bus, and onto the street, police say.

No charges are pending at this time.
