Edmonton police charge man with five bank robberies

Police have identified and arrested a suspect involved in five bank robberies over the last few months.

Back in November 2023, police issued a news release about a robbery at a TD Bank on Ellerslie Road on October 30.

Police noted that similar robberies were reported throughout south Edmonton on December 22, January 4, and January 6.

The suspect took the same steps in each robbery: wearing a disguise and approaching the teller with a written note, which claims he has a weapon and demands money.

Police have announced that 20-year-old Jagveer Kundi is being charged with the string of robberies after he was arrested without incident on Tuesday.

In total, Kundi is facing five counts of robbery and four counts of disguise with intent.
