Edmonton city hall shooter bail hearing delayed for second time

Bezhani Sarvar, the man accused of firing a gun in Edmonton City Hall, has had his bail hearing delayed again.

According to police, Sarvar allegedly entered City Hall on January 23 before firing off several shots from a long gun and throwing a molotov. Police reported that nobody was injured during the shooting, but the molotov did start a small fire.

Sarvar’s first bail hearing was set for January 25. However, it was delayed as lawyers worked to find Sarvar representation. The hearing was moved to Friday (Feb. 2) but was delayed once more to February 16.

Until the bail hearing, Sarvar will remain in custody.

Since the shooting city hall has not opened back up to the public, and there is no timeline for when it will be reopened.
