Highway 16 access to Range Roads 224 and 225 permanently closing

Strathcona County has announced that access to Range Roads 224 and 225 from Highway 16 will be permanently closing later this year.

The closure of these routes was recognized back in 2010, with a Freeway Intersection Removal Agreement being made between the provincial government and Strathcona County in 2012.

Although the north side access to these Range Roads will be closed, the south side access will remain open for the time being.

This comes as the provincial government is looking to make several improvements down the highway, with these removed accesses being replaced with interchanges later in the project.

A definitive date for when the Range Roads access will be closed has not been announced, but it will be sometime during the spring of 2024.
