Pre-registration opens for Warriors Cornhole

Warriors Cornhole, a cornhole league based out of Fort Saskatchewan, has opened up pre-registration for their competitive singles and social singles.

Sean Danchuk and Vlad Papuga started Warriors Cornhole, the first league of its kind in Fort Saskatchewan, last February.

“We started playing in Sturgeon County out of Morinville, and everyone craved another night, so we applied for that area and we were given Fort Saskatchewan.”

Danchuk has been playing cornhole recreationally for years, with 2022 being his first season playing professionally.

“Cornhole’s massive in the states. The growth is crazy out there,” Danchuk said. “Cornhole as a hole is a very simple game.”

For those unaware, cornhole is a game that involves two boards places twenty seven feet apart. Players stand behind the boards throwing bean bags into the boards in front of them.

Each player has four bags, and one bag on the board would give one point, while a bag in the board’s hole gives three points.

“Generally, you’ll play abut five to six matches in an evening, and you’ll always have a different partner until we get into the finals.”

Their games take place at the Moyer Recreation Centre in Josephburg on Thursday nights.
