Strathcona County donates family day funds for a good cause

This upcoming Family Day, Strathcona County will be using the day to help raise funds for a good cause.

On Monday (Feb. 19) one hundred per cent of admission fees at Strathcona County recreation facilities will be going towards the Everybody Gets to Play program, which helps limited income families gain access to recreation services in the community.

Everybody Gets to Play provides no-cost drop-in recreational opportunities, and a reduced fee through the Recreation Access Program.

On top of that, there will also be a corporate funding drive going on from February 12 to 19, where businesses and organizations can make a donation towards the program. These donations are eligible for a tax receipt.

At the same time, local businesses will also be raising funds. Panago Pizza in Sherwood Park is donating $1 from every large pizza, while Pasta Pantry is donating $1 for each “Pasta and Sauce Home Chef” kit sold.

You can learn more about Family Day and the Everybody Gets to Play program by visiting the Strathcona County website here.
