GoFundMe created for mother and daughter injured in Leduc crash

A fundraiser has been started to support a mother and daughter who were injured in a crash that happened on Highway 2A in Leduc County on February 22.

The crash happened after there were reports of a tanker truck colliding with an SUV. Inside the SUV a mother of four Kay and her youngest daughter Maddie. Kay was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while Maddie was flown away by STARS Air Ambulance.

“Kay is now paralyzed from the naval down and baby Maddie is fighting for her life in an induced coma,” the description of the GoFundMe reads. “All proceeds will be used to help the family focus on getting well and relieve some of the financial pressures they are facing.”

The GoFundMe page has a goal of $10,000 and since starting on February 24 has already raised $3,490 in donations.

“We ask for your support as well as a gentle reminder to be extra grateful for your loved ones,” ends the GoFundMe description.
