Women’s Day event coming to Fort Saskatchewan

A Women’s Day event will be coming to Fort Saskatchewan next week.

Hosted at Families First Society on March 9, this event will involve sharing food and stories, with the latter being led by the Kabisig Society, who are also putting on the event.

“This is a great opportunity to build understanding, empathy, and solidarity in our community,” wrote the Families First Society in a Facebook post. “Join us as we honor the resilience of women!”

The Kabisig Society will share stories through four unique cultural sessions that highlight the challenges that women from that culture continue to face to this day.

There will also be traditional bread from these cultural groups for participants to try, while also receiving a recipe to take home.

The event is RSVP only and can be done so by emailing Clarizze Truscott at kabisigsociety@gmail.com.
