The Fort Saskatchewan RCMP are inviting everyone to participate in a family-friendly town hall.
This town hall is on Thursday starting at 7 p.m. in the Lions Mane room of the Dow Centennial Centre and is designed to gather public information on what police should be prioritizing for the following years.
“What they’re meant to do is to have a face-to-face to talk about policing concerns that may be popping up in people’s lives and their communities,” said Barry Larocque, inspector with the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP. “We can kind of assume what could be the priorities, but it’s good to hear from the communities that we serve in order to give us some insight.”
For those who can’t make it in person, the town hall will also be held virtually. This is the first time a Fort RCMP town hall has been held virtually and is available to view on the City of Fort Saskatchewan’s YouTube channel.
“We’re evolving with society and technology to try and reach more people. We’re working with the City of Fort Saskatchewan to get that up and working properly so people can submit questions and concerns,” added Larocque.
The RCMP is also asking that residents share their thoughts beforehand on their anonymous online survey which can also be found on the city’s website.
“We’re looking forward to hearing from as many people as we can so we can certainly serve the community in the best way possible.”
