Edmonton Police Identify Mill Woods Area Fatal Shooting Victim

Edmonton Police Service has identified a 22-year-old man that police say was shot to death on Tuesday night near 48 Street and 21 Avenue in the Mill Woods area of the city.

Police say Keithkarn Mander was found suffering from critical injuries after officers responded to the area due to reports of gunshots at about 10:55 p.m. Mander was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

EPS then responded to the area of 199 Street and 21 Avenue at around 11:30 p.m., where officers discovered an SUV engulfed in flame. Detectives believe the vehicle fire is connected to the murder investigation.

On Thursday, an autopsy on the body of Mander confirmed the cause of death to be gunshot wounds, and the manner of death to be homicide.
