Leduc RCMP recover stolen items posted on Facebook Marketplace

Leduc RCMP managed to recover stolen items that had been posted on Facebook Marketplace.

According to police, they got reports of the stolen items listed for sale on Marketplace back in early March. These items, which included a welder and a welding trailer, were stolen from a property in Saskatchewan.

Leduc RCMP took over the investigation and determined that the stolen items were at a residence in the South Park neighbourhood. Two days after receiving the report, police went to the residence and arrested one man.

The following day police searched the home, seizing 40 welders worth around $140,000.

Police have charged 46-year-old Michael Lee Payne with possession of stolen property and other charges. Payne has been released from custody and will be appearing in court next month.

Leduc police say that the investigation into these stolen goods is still ongoing.
