Historic Fort Saskatchewan daycare closes down

Ann’s Day Care, which has been running in Fort Saskatchewan for almost 50 years, has closed down permanently.

The daycare has been dealing with years of financial troubles, from losing their home during the COVID lockdowns, to falling behind on paying their property tax.

Several locations in Fort Saskatchewan held the daycare, from its iconic location on 101 Street, to a new space down 100 Avenue in downtown, and even at the Anglican Church.

The daycare began in 1975 by couple Ann and Bob Lavoy, with the daycare being taken over by their son, Cory.

However, just last week the business locked its doors and disconnected its phones, with parents figuring out where they can take their children for daycare.
