Fort Saskatchewan Hospital closes labour and delivery services

The Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital won’t have any labour or delivery services for the rest of the month.

These services were closed down earlier this month, with hospital staff redirecting patients to surrounding hospitals for labour and delivery.

However, these services are expected to return to the hospital on April 1.

Although there was no official statement from the hospital, a staff member confirmed to MIX that the services were temporarily closing down.

This closure comes as the hospital is dealing with a shortage of regular and on call obstetrics physicians.
