11-year-old boy killed in Edmonton dog attack

An 11-year-old boy has been killed following a dog attack, according to Edmonton police.

On Monday evening police officers responded to reports of the attack near 82 Street and 11 Avenue SW. When officers arrived, they discovered the injured boy, who had allegedly been attacked by two large dogs.

Police attempted to save the boy’s life before paramedics made it to the scene, but the boy was dead by the time they arrived.

The two dogs were seized by animal control, with the dogs apparently belonging to the home where the boy was visiting.

An autopsy is scheduled for the boy on Wednesday.
