High School students invited to join Edmonton fire cadets

The City of Edmonton is inviting high school students to apply for Edmonton Fire Rescue Service’s Fire Cadet program.

This program is available students in grades 10 to 12, and runs for 10 months over two semesters, with the course starting in September.

According to the City of Edmonton, Fire cadets can earn up to six high school credits for their involvement in the program.

“Through a mix of classroom and hands-on programming, students can learn the importance of mental and physical wellness and teamwork, all while building employment skills and experiencing the day-to-day work of a firefighter,” wrote the city in a release.

The application deadline is on April 30, with application forms available on the City of Edmonton website.

The Fire Cadet program is sponsored by ATCO.
