Edmonton firefighters initiate third-alarm response for large fire

A large fire in northeast Edmonton has initiated a third-alarm response from Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS).

The fire began before 2:42 p.m. near Manning Drive and 159 Avenue. Less than twenty minutes after the call was made to EFRS, the fire was upgraded to a second alarm.

Just under half an hour later, the fire was upgraded once more to third alarm, with a total of 21 crews on scene as of 4 p.m.

An EFRS spokesperson said that there are no reports of injuries. However, there have been sightings of black smoke coming from several vehicles near a driving range.

An update will be provided once more information is available.
