Strathcona County highway closes following semi rollover

A portion of Highway 16 was blocked and closed following a semi-truck rollover that happened on Wednesday morning.

The crash was at around 9:00 a.m., with the crash happening near Range Road 212 just outside of Ardrossan. Police were asking the public to avoid the highway as crews worked to clear the scene.

Just under two hours later and Strathcona County RCMP mentioned that the highway had been fully reopened for travel, with no major injuries being reported in the crash.

Wednesday morning brought rough road conditions all across the province, with Alberta RCMP even sending out a release warning residents to avoid driving as much as possible.

The same morning there was another single semi rollover on Calgary Trail in Edmonton.
