Gibbons proclaims next week as ‘Hydrogen Week’

The town of Gibbons has proclaimed next week as Hydrogen week.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, with the week coinciding with the Canadian Hydrogen Conference. This week serves to showcase the commitment that the province has towards growing the Hydrogen sector.

Alberta is already the largest hydrogen producer in the country, with the province expecting the hydrogen industry to be worth trillions of dollars by 2050.

“The global race is on to adopt hydrogen technologies. Countries around the world are positioning themselves to try to become tomorrow’s hydrogen superpower,” wrote the Town of Gibbons in a release. “We are moving aggressively to take advantage of this opportunity for Alberta and Canada.”

The Canadian Hydrogen Conference runs from April 23 to April 25 at the Edmonton Convention Centre.
