Rough roads leads to 150 reported crashes in Edmonton

Yesterday morning there were more than 150 reports of vehicle crashes, according to Accident Support Services International.

This was due to rough road conditions, which led to Alberta RCMP issuing a province wide warning to residents, asking them not to travel on the road unless absolutely necessary.

In total, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., there had been 161 reports of crashes in Edmonton alone.

Two of these crashes involved semitruck rollovers. One of these rollovers was on Calgary Trail, while the other was on Highway 16 near Ardrossan.

Although the RCMP did not mention the causes of these crashes, they also reported that there were no injuries reported in either of the semi rollovers.

Road conditions cleared up by afternoon on Wednesday as the weather slowly melted the snow that had covered the ground overnight.
