Outloud St. Albert permanently closes

Outloud St. Albert, an organization that gave support to local 2SLGBTQ+ youth, closed its doors last week.

Last Friday, the organization announced that due to a lack of funding, the organization would be closing immediately.

Outloud had been struggling with funding since the COVID pandemic, and with funding running out last year, the straw that broke the camel’s back was an unexpected legal expense.

Although Outloud couldn’t share details on the expense, it made funding nearly impossible.

Since closing, the organization has been reaching out to other local groups to help give support for vulnerable 2SLGBTQ+ in the city.
