Fort raises bandshell for live musical performances

Staff with the City of Fort Saskatchewan were seen raising the Legacy Park bandshell last week.

The bandshell is the centre for many live musical performances throughout the summer. In previous years the bandshell has hosted The Strumbellas and Men Without Hats.

For Canada Day 2024, the bandshell is expecting to see performances from Grim Stone, Sebastian Barrera, Garett Gunderson, and Ava Nayana. The evening entertainers for Canada Day have not been announced yet.

There also tends to be live musical performances during the Fort Saskatchewan Farmers’ Market, which runs at the CN Station right next to Legacy Park.

The bandshell had first been built back in 1997 by the Harvest Festival Society, who used to host the annual Canada Day festivities.
