Fort Saskatchewan Canada Day headliner announced

The City of Fort Saskatchewan has announced the headliner for the upcoming Canada Day show at Legacy Park.

This annual show has featured performances from The Strumbellas and Men Without Hats, with this years’ headliner being the multi-platinum-selling artist Tyler Shaw.

Tyler Shaw has been nominated for multiple JUNO Awards throughout his career, with a rendition of GAYLE’s “abcdefu” going viral on TikTok, amassing over 5 billion views and 168 million streams.

“His extensive career highlights include performances for global dignitaries such as Prince Harry, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and President Joe Biden, as well as opening for renowned artists like Shawn Mendes and Alessia Cara,” the City of Fort Saskatchewan wrote in a release.

Opening for Shaw will be supporting acts Shred Kelly and BrassTactics. Shred Kelly is a folk-rock band from the Rockies, while BrassTactics blend ska, hip-hop, and funk in an energetic, New Orleans style set.

The event is free to attend, with the performances beginning at 7 p.m.

Fort Saskatchewan’s Canada Day celebrations also feature a festival at Legacy Park and fireworks at the Rotary Amphitheatre.
