Morinville lifts fire restriction

The Town of Morinville lifted its fire restriction on Tuesday evening.

All burn and fireworks permits are now reinstated, with new permits available at the Town of Morinville website, or by calling the Morinville Fire Department.

Morinville is the second place in the area to remove their fire strictions as Sturgeon County had also removed their restriction earlier in the month.

The restrictions have ended as the last few weeks have brought rain and cooler temperatures to the area, lowering the risk of wildfires.

There’s an interactive map showing all fire bans, restrictions, and advisories in the area by visiting the Alberta Fire Bans website.
