Edmonton celebrating Splash Day

A free family friendly event returns to Edmonton this weekend.

On Saturday starting at 11 a.m., Splash Day will be taking place at City Hall Plaza and Sir Winston Churchill Square.

There will be life performances from DJ Funkasaurus Rex, Firefly Circus, Ho’omaka Hanu A Ke Aloha Polynesian Dance Society, the Ngorimba Marimba Band, and more.

There will also be some face painting, giant Lego, table tennis, and other kinds of games. There will even be food trucks on site and a free custom mocktail at the Hallway Cafe.

Finally, there will also be a spring planting activity using pop-up planters outside of the plaza. This activity is also a part of the City Hall Urban Agriculture initiative.

Parking is available in the Canada Place and in Stanley A. Milner Library parkades, but the city also recommends that people take a bus or LRT to the event.

You can see a complete schedule of Splash Day in Edmonton by visiting the Edmonton Arts website.
